Description of the session

In this solutions-oriented session, participants will learn about the 6 great societal transitions from breakdown to breakthrough and market opportunity, extensively illustrated with business innovation examples. There will be a systems thinking exercise using a set of Thriving Cards (based on Prof Visser’s book, Thriving). A key takeaway will be a better scientific understanding of thriving and some reflections on regenerative leaders.

short bio about the lecturer

Dr Wayne Visser is a globally recognised “pracademic”, poet and “possibilist” on the impact of business on nature and society, with faculty roles at the University of Cambridge and Antwerp Management School. He is also director of the thinktank Kaleidoscope Futures, founder of CSR International, and former director of Sustainability Services at KPMG and strategy analyst at Capgemini. He has written 42 books, including the Amazon bestseller Thriving: The Breakthrough Movement to Regenerate Nature, Society, and the Economy. His work has taken him to 78 countries and he has been listed as a top 100 thought leader in trustworthy business.
