Description of the session

Implementing change requires a lot of leadership. But in essence, what is it really about? And where do you best place the emphasis as a leader? Should you determine the desired change at the start, or should you let it arise spontaneously from dialogue and interaction? Should you opt for a top down approach, or rather bottom up? Change the people first, or transform their environment first? Is it best to push the change starting from a burning platform, or better to opt for the pulling power of an inspiring vision of the future? Is it best to focus on achieving quick wins, or will acquiring, wielding and sharing power ensure that you can keep the change on track? A lot of questions, with individual leaders giving different answers from their own experience and conviction.

In this session, we start from your implicit thinking about how leaders can successfully implement change. We then integrate these thinking within an overarching theoretical framework, after which we explore your own preferred positions and personal strengths and pitfalls in the broad change implementation field. We end the session with a reflection on how shared leadership can be the key to successful change implementation.

what can participants expect as key learning of this session?
